On Thursday, we received word that Canadian women's road pro Erinne Willock (TIBCO/To The Top) had gone down in a crash during the the Drentse 8 van Dwingeloo and possibly suffered a broken scapula. She did not finish the race. She was subsequently scratched from today's World Cup race - Ronde van Drenthe. The team has not made an official announcement of the injury, but Willock has confirmed it on Facebook:
"The scapula is broken on the bottom corner. It's still attached and should hopefully straighten out and heal on its own. After a girl went sideways in front of me, I first bunny hopped her and that's when I saw the light pole which I hit with my right shoulder."
Our best wishes for a speedy recovery.
