Thousands of men and woman will be cycling over 200km on a multi-day journey - BC 's Ride to Conquer Cancer- through the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
The third annual Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer® benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation will take place June 18-19, 2011 in the Vancouver area and through the Pacific Northwest.
After months of training and preparation, cyclists of all abilities and fitness levels will embark upon this challenging route. The Ride will also include cyclists participating on a unicycle, multiple tandem bikes and an industrial sized tricycle.
The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer® benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation begins in Vancouver with Opening Ceremonies on the morning of Saturday, June 18th with riders embarking on the first leg of their journey stopping to camp overnight finishing on Sunday, June 19. The Riders will be supported by hundreds of Volunteers and Crew Members, providing meals, water and snack stops, gear transport, portable restrooms, safety on the course, comprehensive medical services and an overnight campsite complete with tents, hot showers and entertainment.
With 44% of Canadian men and 39% of Canadian women developing cancer in their lifetime, the funds raised will support crucial breakthrough research and discovery of new cancer therapies benefiting treatment at the BC Cancer Agency, Canada’s leading cancer research centre.
