The Forest City Velodrome is pleased to announce an agreement with Vitess Bicycle Corporation ( www.vitess.com ) to sponsor the Saturday, February 4th, Race night at the 138m indoor velodrome in London, Ontario.
Julien Papon, a spokesman with Vitess, came to an agreement with the FCV on the Race Sponsorship. “The Vitess brand has rapidly become the benchmark when it comes to delivering a world class cycling experience to a fast growing community of discerning riders, ranging from novice to former professional cyclists” says Papon. He also adds “as passionate cyclists, the need for speed is what we’re all made of, and bicycle racing is the quintessential of high-performance cycling. Vitess has a lot in the works for 2012 and beyond in that regard; and we are absolutely thrilled to start the year with helping FCV’s Rob Good and his team put up such a fantastic event.”
The "Vitess Challenge" is the new name for the event. The Vitess Challenge will have separate races for all categories during the race program. The top two racers from each race will advance into the 40 lap "Winner Take All" Challenge. Events for the race night will include: Points races, Endurance "Scratch Races", Elimination (Miss & Out) Races. There will also be races for the sprinters. To add some additional drama there will be a gear restriction in place for the evening (81" gearing) will be mandatory for all racers. Roll out will be held randomly throughout the night.
This event will draw racers from across Ontario, Quebec and the Northern United States.
The first prize in the Vitess Challenge will be a Vitess road frame-set package, valued at $4,000: it includes a brand new custom-painted and fitted Vitess full-carbon frame-set. There will numerous prizes that will be drawn at the end of the night for all the racers in attendance, also from Vitess.
Racing begins at 7:00 pm with the preliminary events, the Vitess Challenge will begin at 9:20 pm on Saturday, February 4th.
Adult admission is $10.00, Seniors $5.00, Kids are always FREE.
