Interviews from the Track World Cup in London, on the new Olympic track. Plus, some commments from Tara Whitten about Canada's silver medal ride.
Women's Team Pursuit - Gillian Carleton
Men's Team Sprint - Stephane Cossette and Cam MacKinnon
Tara Whitten was unavailable for an interview, since she still has to compete in the Omnium, but she did e-mail a few comments about the team's ride.
"I am really proud of our team. We came into this World Cup knowing that we were capable of something special, but to execute it on the day, with so many expectations, and especially with a team that has never raced together before is something really incredible to be a part of."
"There were definitely nerves before the race, but I think we all felt ready too. There was so much energy in the building, and I think that is something that we really fed off of. Once we were racing we were just in the moment, executing what we knew we were capable of and not really aware of anything but squeezing out every ounce of energy we had as a team!"
"I think that this ride is only the beginning for us. Our program now has so much depth, and we have so much confidence that when we are on the line we have what it takes to compete with the best in the world. The best part is that I know we have more room for improvement, and a great group of five women who can continue to push each other to reach even higher."
