The Pacific Cycling Centre, Victoria, BC will be holding a training camp on April 27 - 29, for cyclists interested in riding the Tour de Victoria and other Gran Fondo events.
The camp is for cyclists of all abilities and ideal for those wanting to train for their first endurance ride, or wanting to improve their riding efficiency. Led by PCC Head Coach Houshang Amiri and Olympic athlete Erinne Willock, participants will learn cycling techniques including set-up and aerodynamics, pedaling efficiency, gear-shifting on different roads, riding economy, and nutrition and hydration before, during and post-training and racing.
“The aim of the camp is to learn better bike efficiency so we will ensure that participants reach their best form in the shortest possible time,” says Amiri.
This camp marks the culmination of PCC’s 2011-2012 camps. Camps have been held monthly since November and attended by elite athletes such as Svein Tuft, Max Plaxton, Erinne Willock, Melanie McQuaid, Annie Ewart and Rob Britton.
