April 20/12 3:11 am - Olympic MTB Track Receives Final Tweaks

Based on feedback from last summer's
test event on the Olympic mountain bike course at Hadleigh Farm, organizers have made changes to the circuit. The day after the Houffalize World Cup, members of the Canadian team flew to London for a chance to try out the revised circuit - the final opportunity before the Games.
According to national coach Dan Proulx, "They are mostly minor tweaks. A new descent on a rock garden before the big grass climb, a wider track in spots for more passing. The start loop now just goes straight up the first hill ..... so no switchbacks there until lap 2. All improvements.....so we're happy with the changes."
Olympic hopeful Emily Batty commented, "the course is fast and flowy. It suits my style. I really like the changes they've made."
Riders will now face 172 metres of climbing per 4.7 kilometre lap.
