The 2012 Dandelion Grand Prix in Kemptville, just a one hour drive south of Ottawa, will feature an exciting Road Race jam packed with Men and Women Professional-Amateur (Pro-Am) and Elite cyclists on Sunday, May 27th.
The Road Race is part of the Kemptville Dandelion Festival that will showcase the local art, music and culture, and usually attracts a sizeable crowd so the race will surely be a great spectacle. It is a great family event with plenty of activites for everyone and vendors to browse at.
The Women’s Pro-Am & Elite Race will start at 10:30 am, whilst the Men’s Pro-Am & Elite Race is set to commence at 2:15 pm. Prize money will be given to riders who place in the Top 5 in their category, so we expect that there will be a good quality race on the roads of Oxford Mills.
The day will also feature the Open, Sportif and Beginner categories before the Pro-Am and Elite Races gets under way. These categories are the perfect match for you if you are a beginner or intermediate level cyclist. Once your race finishes, engross yourself in the day’s activities, enjoy the local hospitality and watch the Pro-Am and Elite cyclists battle it out.
If you are interested in racing in the Dandelion Grand Prix, please visit www.ontariocycling.org to register for this race and membership information. Pro-Am and Elite cyclists who haven’t registered for this race are also encouraged to apply.
