A special auction of 2012 Giro d’Italia jerseys worn by winner Ryder Hesjedal and other star riders from this year’s race will be held on www.ebay.it to support the Unicef ‘Vogliamo Zero’ campaign against child mortality.
From today until June 26th, anyone can take part in the charity auction and secure all four leader’s jersey from the Giro d’Italia won by Ryder Hesjedal (Pink jersey), Joaquin Rodriguez (red Points jersey), Rigoberto Uran Uran (white Young Rider jersey) and Matteo Rabottini (blue Climber’s jersey). Also available are team jerseys from all the riders who wore one of the classification jerseys during this year’s race. These include jerseys from Taylor Phinney, Mark Cavendish and Adriano Malori.
Jerseys worn during the Pro.Am team time trial held in Milan will also be auctioned, including those worn by former world champion Mario Cipollini and Italian Olympians Antonio Rossi and Jury Checchi.
All the funds raised will help UNICEF vaccinate children against measles.
