January 24/13 12:48 pm - Coaching Opportunities Available at NCCH

Due to significant growth the National Cycling Centre Hamilton (NCCH) is seeking Expressions of Interest from individuals interested in potential coaching opportunities.

“This Fall we have recruited 75 youth riders and plan to attend more schools in February and March,” said head coach Rick Lee. “We have some excellent young junior coaches who primarily work with the development groups; this is great for their development, as the casual and part-time employment helps them financially with sports related expenses.”

Lee also points out the work experience and personal development will assist them in future employment opportunities.

NCCH is offering the opportunity to mature individuals (preferably with a driver’s license). Riders or coaches from MTB, Road or Track disciplines are encouraged to apply. The main requirement is the ability to work within a systemized program and display a passion to be part of the fastest growing cycling development program in North America. Examples include:

• Elite riders who have coaching experience, yet no certified qualifications

• Riders who are studying in an area of expertise that can be beneficial to the NCCH program

• Teachers who are cyclists and love working with kids

• Masters riders with years of experience and now ready to put back into the sport

• MTB, Road or Track rider or coach interested in becoming an active contributor in the high performance program

NCCH is keen to hear from people with high performance MTB experience to enhance the NCCH MTB program. The Centre has an amazing infrastructure and facility, professional in-house expertise and support from community partners, ongoing professional development, disciplined and committed riders and a fantastically inclusive and supportive family environment; which has contributed to the development of some of the best young riders in Canada.

If you think you have what it takes and want to become involved, or have additional questions, please contact head coach Rick Lee with your Expression of Interest at rick.lee@ncch.ca.
