Last night, less then two days before the start of the Cyclo-cross Worlds in Louisville, Kentucky, the World Cup trophies for the top riders of the 2012-2013 season were handed out. American Katie Compton became the first non-European to win a World Cup title, taking the Elite Women's award, while world champion Niels Albert led a Belgian sweep of the Elite Men's category. Hoogeheide in the Netherlands, the site of the 2014 Cross Worlds and this season's World Cup final, was chosen as the top event.
