Digital Strategy & Communications Coordinator
As a member of the Marketing Team, this person will develop and manage the content for any digital media, including: United Cycle’s website, social media platforms, and electronic communication tools, ensuring the content is professional, relevant and current. A chance to plan, build and implement an effective and influential digital strategy for a long-standing, community-leading sports retailer. The opportunity offers a clean slate to build upon a candidate’s innovation and enthusiasm in digital media and communications.
Job Qualifications
• 1 to 3 years of experience managing online content
• Must be proficient with CMS platforms and experience in Joomla! is an asset
• Excellent creative writing skills with proven experience publishing writing and editing published writing
• Must be currently active in all major digital media platforms (i.e. Website, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Blogs) A true love for social and digital media and engaging an online community
• Excellent computer skills, including familiarity with maintaining web content, desktop publishing, (Adobe & Illustrator), and industry mailouts
• Having a passion for sport is an asset
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people and work co-operatively on a team
• Attention to detail
Job Duties
• Participates as an active member of the Marketing Team, contributing to the development and leading the implementation of marketing’s digital strategy
• Gathers all material (text, photos, graphics, video and content) required to maintain a current, professional and complete digital presence amplifying United Cycle’s strategic plan
• Administers United Cycle’s website, social media and digital communication platforms
• Actively seeks sport and community-based information for United Cycle’s website and digital media platforms
• Administers the production of all United Cycle customer newsletters and online communications
• Maintains current, consistent internal and external communications through website, social media platforms, e-newsletters, intranet, on-hold message scripts, posters, pamphlets and other communication channels
• Draft press releases for media events including NHL player autograph sessions
• Occasionally photograph events such as major campaigns, expos and autograph sessions
• Occasional copywriting for radio scripts, billboards and advertisements
