Canada's Gillian Carleton will ride select road events in 2014 with California based women's team Vanderkitten.
Carleton, a Olympic and World Championship track bronze medallist, has her sights set on the track at this Summer's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. After a breakout road season with Specialized-Lululemon in 2013, Carleton will join Vanderkitten as a sprinter in select races on the USA Cycling NCC calendar, as well as North American UCI events, including the newly upgraded Tour de Delta.
Carleton said, "I'm incredibly excited to do race on the road with Vanderkitten this year. The team is made up of an exceptional group of athletes and sponsors, and I look forward to hopefully adding to their palmares of great results. Most importantly, I'm proud to be representing a brand and an image that has supported women's cycling for such a long time."
Vanderkitten Founder Dave Verrecchia said, "We are incredibly happy to include Gillian as a Vanderkitten this season. Gillian is a standout athlete with a proven international pedigree and exciting ambitions. Moreover, she has an engaging personality and we are keen to engage her character on our fun, kick ass team."
