The Dirty 40 Race closes for registration in 10 days. If you've already signed up, help spread the word to friends. If you haven't signed up, read below and consider doing so. We were recently added to the 2014 Gravel Bucket List by Cyclocross Magazine!
Our next race is "about" 60 miles, with a good 40 of them on gravel. We call it the Dirty 40. It is held August 30th in Derby, Vermont. We are unsanctioned. We have a good mix of road, cross, MTB, tandems, singlespeeds. We accept all racers. We have a full feedzone with passed waterbottles like the pros and homemade treats from local homegrown establishments. Our race is timed and we do have a broomwagon.
Crazy stuff sometimes occurs; in our April race there were maple syrup shots in the middle of the woods from shot glasses made from ice and we even had confirmations of a Yeti sighting. We have cold Vermont crafted beer and hard cider for purchase at the finish line and lots of grub for free. Heck, we even have a band playing and hay bales to sit and eat on at the finish.
Categories for podium include Mens Overall, Womens Overall, Mens 40+, Womens 40+, Mens 60+, Womens 60+, Tandem, and Singlespeed. There is no prize purse but bragging rights are bestowed.
