The Ontario Cycling Association is pleased to announce first two camps for the 2014-2015 "Rising Stars" Endurance Development Academy. The track program is designed to support Ontario athletes that have potential and ambition of making it onto an Olympic podium in the future.
Once the Milton velodrome opens it will become the home of the Rising Stars program and all the athletes will have regular access to training on the new velodrome. The Rising Stars Academy will focus on athlete identification and development; our goal is to reach over 200 athletes in the 2014/15 season, focusing on athletes between the ages of 13 and 18.
The next tryout dates are Saturday, September 20th, for new riders into the program, where there are a few spots remaining to be filled, and Saturday, September 27th, for identified experienced track athletes. Both will be held at the Forest City Velodrome in London. The cost of the camps are $25.00. The tryout camps will begin at 11am.
Club coaches are encouraged to attend and get involved with the Rising Star program. Athletes will be given the opportunity for further training that will take place in October.
