After careful thought and consideration, the Town of Milton is postponing the opening event of the Mattamy National Cycling Centre and its cycling programs until after the TORONTO 2015 test events in January.
The Opening Day celebration, originally scheduled for November 29th, will now take place on Family Day - Monday, February 16th. Cycling programs, originally scheduled for December, will begin on Tuesday, January 13th.
"We know there are many enthusiastic cyclists eagerly waiting to ride the track and we apologize for any inconvenience these changes may cause," said Milton Mayor Gord Krantz. "But we look forward to celebrating with the community by offering a complete velodrome experience on Family Day."
Although the cycling track itself is complete, other areas of the facility are currently in progress.
The Town of Milton will be reaching out to registrants who have signed on for sessions or joined as members, and will update its website and social media sites with specific program changes.
