Velofix is a mobile bike pro shop and we are opening a new franchise in the Toronto area. Featured on Dragon's Den, they struck a deal with one of the Dragons to expand their business into the U.S. market. We are looking for a Lead Bike Mechanic to run our Velofix van in the Toronto area. Are you passionate about cycling, have a proven track record working on a variety of bicycles and enjoy working directly with the clients? Consider the details below to see if Velofix is right for you.
At Velofix, you will be working from a customized Mercedes Sprinter van, with all of the racks, tools and parts to provide everything from quick tune-ups to complete overhauls. Working independently, you will travel from client to client providing repairs at their location. You can expect the clients to look over your shoulder, asking questions and looking for advice on the latest tips and techniques to get the most out of their ride.
The ideal candidate will be certified by the Barnett Bicycle Institute, or equivalent training and professional experience. You must have a clean driving record and be comfortable driving in downtown Toronto.
This is a full time position working a variety of hours and days as required by the appointments booked by our customers. At times you will be joined by a second mechanic who will provide assistance and receive training. As the business builds, there will be room for advancement and investment as vans are added to the franchise.
Our truck will be delivered at the end of March with a grand opening promotional event. Key to that event will be the introduction of our Lead Mechanic. Are you ready to stand up and be recognized?
Qualifications:
• Barnett Bicycle Institute certified or equivalent work experience
• Technical thinker and problem solver
• Clean driving record
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Constantly looking for new technology and learning new techniques
• Independent worker, able to manage time to meet scheduled appointments
• Enthusiastic and able to work under close scrutiny of the client
• Knowledgeable around issues and events in the bicycling community
This is an exciting new business with many opportunities and possibilities. If this sounds like you, please send us your resume. Thank you to all candidates; only those selected for interviews will be contacted.
