IMBA Canada is pleased to announce the continuation of the Trail Care Crew (TCC) program for the 2015 season.
The Crew will visit communities across Canada to teach the benefits and methods of sustainable trail design, construction, and maintenance to Parks Canada sites and member organizations.
Established in 2010, the Trail Care Crew has been generously supported by program partners Parks Canada, Subaru Canada, and - new for 2015 - Shimano Canada. Additional funding and support for 2015 will help the TCC program to reach out and engage with a larger audience, and develop new resources for the Canadian mountain bike community
Hitting the road for the 2015 season is former TCC member AJ Strawson. AJ is excited to use his past trail building and GIS experience to help IMBA Canada clubs and volunteers to create great trail experiences all across Canada. AJ has a background in environmental studies, GIS mapping, and a certificate in Sustainable Trails from Fleming College.
Now in its sixth year, the IMBA Canada Trail Care Crew has visited over 600 communities across Canada, spreading the word about sustainable trail building practices and inspiring volunteer stewardship of Canada's public lands. The program has trained over 3500 participants, resulting directly in 8000 hours of volunteer trailwork.
