The Hamilton Cycling Club issued the following statement on Wednesday, March 23rd:

The Hamilton Cycling Club has regretfully decided to cancel the Good Friday Road Race this year due to the deteriorating weather conditions.

The forecast is for freezing rain all night tonight and tomorrow (Thursday), and it's going down to -1C overnight to Friday.  There may well be ice on the roads that is not going to disappear when it's still freezing in the morning with a forecasted high of of 2C.  This creates a significant safety issue.  CCN and the OCA have been notified and all registration fees will be refunded.  Riders will have the option of leaving their fees with CCN, assuring them a prepaid registration in 2017 at 2016 prices.

We appreciate your understanding and hope riders will test their racing skills on Sunday at the "Hell/ Heck of the North" in forecasted 12C weather!
