July 30/16 13:19 pm - Registration Open for Mt Revelstoke Steamer Hill Climb (B.C.)

Posted by Editor on 07/30/16

Revelstoke has a world class hill climb - the Mt Revelstoke Meadows in the Sky Parkway. This 26 km long and 1400 m high climb is one of the longest sustained paved climbs in North America. As you climb from temperate interior rainforest to subalpine snow forest you are treated to ever improving views of the Columbia River Valley with the Monashees and the Selkirks on either side. The road surface is excellent (repaved in the fall of 2015) and the traffic is minimal. Truly a memorable ride!

On August 7th, with the support of Parks Canada and the 112 Restaurant, the RCA will be hosting the Mt Revelstoke Steamer Hill Climb. This will be your opportunity to test yourself against the clock on this challenging road. The entry fee is only $25 plus insurance for registration before August 1st.

Registration is open at www.zone4.ca with more information at www.bikerevelstoke.org.

Event questions can be emailed to race directors Stuart Smith and Bart Jarmula at revelstokehillclimb@gmail.com.

The Revelstoke Cycling Association is a registered non-profit society dedicated to supporting and promoting cycling in the Revelstoke area. This event is volunteer run and any profits go back towards cycling in Revelstoke.
