Specialized Bicycle Components Canada is happy to announce that Cytech technical training and accreditation is now available in Canada. With "service" becoming the catchword in this web challenged period of bicycle retail, the lack of a standard in technical service leaves retailers rolling the dice when hiring new staff.
Cytech is the only internationally recognized trade course for bicycle technicians, with training centers in the UK, South Africa, Australia and now Canada. Cytech is owned by the UK cycle industry via the Association of Cycle Traders (ACT) and over the last 25 years has delivered over 11,000 technical courses to cycle mechanics and enthusiasts worldwide.
Specialized is dedicated to fostering the growth of cycling in Canada and to the success of all Canadian bicycle retailers. Cytech classes will be offered to all Canadian bicycle retail outlets regardless of affiliation with the Specialized brand or not.
The UK has led the way in terms of building a nationally recognized qualification for bicycle mechanics, where
other countries have lagged behind.
With Cytech courses encompassing the basics of cycle mechanics right through to dealing with the most advanced and high-tech components and parts, there is a course and qualification to suit all staff. From taking a first step toward becoming a certified staff member with Cytech Theory One, an interactive online distance learning course, providing a strong foundation for candidates to build their career upon - to a fully qualified cycle technician with Cytech technical three which represents the pinnacle of technical proficiency.
