November 30/17 12:32 pm - Trained Competitive Cyclists Wanted for Study (B.C.)

Posted by Editor on 11/30/17

Trained competitive cyclists are wanted for a study to improve existing predictive models of team pursuit track cycling performance, for the National Track Cycling Team, by incorporating information about muscle activity.

Volunteer participants will be in the laboratory at the Richmond Olympic Oval for 1.5 to 2.5 hours on 3 separate days and will be asked to complete several cycling trials at a range of power outputs aimed at eliciting fatigue between 0.5 and 30 minutes while muscle activity is measured (non-invasively).

Ideally, participants are those who train greater than 3x per week at moderate to heavy intensity for at least one hour per session.

If any cyclists are interested in participating in this study, please contact Ollie Blake at the Department of Exercise Science, Physical and Health Education at ollieblake@uvic.ca.
