Rocky Mountain Bicycles has been designing, developing, and perfecting mountain bikes in and around North Vancouver, BC since 1981. This diverse playground has offered us the ideal proving grounds for all kinds of riding. Rocky Mountain Bicycles currently has an opening for a Technical Representative for Western Canada and the Pacific North West.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide technical & branding support for Rocky Mountain Bicycles throughout the Western Canada & Pacific North West (BC, AB, WA, OR, N.CA)
• When necessary, provide technical & branding support for other Procycle brands
• Develop and maintain on-going demo and events calendar
• Execute demo and events calendar including consumer events, demo tour, sales events, product knowledge, and information sessions with dealers and consumers (including land access permits)
• Manage needs & logistics for demo and events
• Manage and maintain demo vehicle, including regular service, safety and storage
• Identify and order necessary demo bicycles, samples, supplies, promotional items and tools
• Assemble, maintain and sell-off demo fleet each season
• Work with Sales and Marketing to establish consistent demo format
• Collaborate and support the creation of seasonal product knowledge format and tools
• Host and organize regional dealer PK/Clinic tour
• Attend trade and consumer events, as needed, to promote new and existing product
• Stay current with competitor landscape, product and trends
• Share regular feedback with product development, sales and marketing
• Provide support to elevated warranty or technical related issues in the field including; trouble-shooting, documenting, ensuring solution and execution for outcome
• Support annual budget process and operate within set budgets
• Take responsibility for the care and regular maintenance for all company tools utilized for position, including, but not limited to, vehicles, samples and event materials
• Manage and maintain demo and events calendar on bikes.com
• Arrange and maintain travel calendar/schedule and all logistics including driving, flights, hotels, expense reports, all travel related details
• Liaise between dealers, warranty and customer service departments
Minimum Qualifications
• You love to ride
• 5+ years in bicycle retail or bicycle mechanics
• 1+ years in a position requiring extensive travel
• Ability to work weekends
• Ability to travel up to 80%
• Ability to travel in the US and Canada
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Superior customer service skills
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs, including PowerPoint
Requirements
• Background in bicycle mechanics and sales
• Strong understanding of bicycle retail
• Ability to work independently to achieve necessary, on time results
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, oral and written
• Comfortable presenting technical information to groups of people
• Ability to drive 5+ hours
• Heavy lifting (80lbs) required
• Working most weekends during peak season (March - September)
