Team Canada added two gold medals to its total on Saturday and Sunday at the Para Road World Cup in Corridonia, Italy.  World champion Shelley Gautier of Toronto added a road race win to her time trial victory in the women's T1 category, while Tristen Chernove of Cranbrook, BC, won the men's C2 road race.  Canada finished the four day event with six medals - three gold, two silver and one bronze.

"I am super happy with the performances of all the Canadians," said Sebastien Travers, Head Para Coach at Cycling Canada.  "From the high performance team, to the NextGen riders, to athletes riding as independents, everyone was able get points for Canada for the Paralympic qualification process.  This meets our expectations and goals for this World Cup.  On top of this, we are leaving with two World Cup leaders, in Tristen [Chernove] and Shelley [Gautier], proving that our high performance athletes are riding really well.  We had a few problems with mechanicals and other issues for a few of our athletes, so we look forward to doing even better at the next World Cup in Ostend [Belgium]."

In other road race results, Kara Douville was fourth in the women's H4 category, the women's tandem teams of Robbi Weldon and her pilot Erin Ruttan were fifth, followed by the team of Annie Bouchard and her pilot Evelyne Gagnon in sixth.  In the men's H3, Charles Morneau was in the breakaway when he suffered a mechanical problem and had to drop out.
