September 9/20 9:53 am - Brian Chewter Memorial TT Update (Ontario)

This Saturday (September 12th) the Brian Chewter Memorial Time Trial will take place, hosted by the Hamilton Cycling Club. We have posted details on how to register Here, but organizer Chris Komar has provided an update, below. The event now has Aero and Merckx (classic non-aero) categories.

Update:

September 12th is quickly approaching and we will be closing registration for the Brian Chewter Memorial White Swan TT on Friday, September 11th at 4:00 p.m., so I would recommend registering with CCN as soon as possible since we will finalize the start list Friday at 7:00 p.m.

Once again, it is a club time trial, so you MUST adhere to the rules of the road since the road is not closed. There are no stop signs except one at the turn around. We will do our best to be fair with traffic control. I will personally be supervising the turnaround, so if someone is held up by a car, we will subtract the approximated delay from the rider's time. Please don't cowboy the turn around. We will disqualify anyone that acts reckless and puts safety in jeopardy.

Secondly, my workplace, Canam, has donated protective cloth masks to all volunteers and we request that we all adhere to the COVID-19 safety precautions.

With that in mind, and the addition of the Merckx category, we will have two separate start times. The Merckx category will commence at 9:00 a.m. The Aero bike category will commence at 10:00 a.m., so there will be a break between the two events to reduce congestion. We will distribute the cash and merchandise for the Merckx category before we commence the Aero division.

I will finalize the price list tomorrow (Thursday) at 9:00 p.m, but I have good news - we have additional sponsors. As of this moment, I am able to top up each placing of the original minimum by $20 and we have now confirmed it will be $200 to break the course record, which I will post tomorrow as well.

So, as of now, we are currently at $245, $220, $195, $170 and $145 for fifth place, provided there is a minimum of 15 riders in each gender categories. If there's less than 15 riders the prizes will be reduced by 50% of the stated amount above.
