August 24/22 4:17 am - Teams Announced for Team Relay at Mountain Bike Worlds

The first event - the Team Relay - at the 2022 Mountain Bike Worlds in Les Gets, France, will take place today [Wednesday] at 12:30 pm local time. Teams of six riders - Junior W/M, Under-23 W/M and Elite W/M - will each ride a shortened lap of the XCO course.

Canada has a strong team - Ian Ackert (Junior Men), Peter Disera (Elite Men), Laurie Arseneault (Elite Women), Emilly Johnston (Under-23 Women), Isabella Holmgren (Junior Women) and Carter Woods (Under-23 Men). This gives the team its fastest riders in the middle and at the end.

However, perennial favourites France and Switzerland also have very strong teams, and are sending their fastest riders (Under-23 Men) off early and Elite Men in the last spot - Jordan Sarrou for France and Nino Schurter for Switzerland.
