The first OFFICIAL Gravel World Championships were held in Veneto Italy on Saturday (Women) and Sunday (Men).
Gianni Vermeersch (Belgium) won the 1st official title after 190km on Sunday with breakaway companion Daniel Oss (Italy) taking 2nd place, arriving 43s back. Mathieu van der Poel (Netherlands) taking the field sprint for 3rd at 1:28.
On Saturday Pauline Ferrand-Prévot (France) won the Women's 140 km Elite race. Switzerland's Sina Frei finished second, with Chiara Teocchi (Italy) taking bronze.
No Canadians were entered in either race.

In 2021 the Gravel Championships were UNOFFICIALLY held in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA with Adam Roberge (Can) winning the Men's event (results) and Lauren De Crescenzo (USA) the women's (results)
Neither participated in Italy
