The Canadian Cycling Association (CCA) is pleased to announce that Florence Bourg has joined the organization as its new Communications Manager.

Mrs. Bourg brings over 12 years of experience in communications, media and public relations in the sport, tourism and event industry to the CCA. Prior to joining the CCA, Mrs. Bourg was a communications consultant, where she managed several projects related to cycling, and was the media relations and tourism promotion coordinator for the Quebec-based event management firm Gestev Inc., as well as the event coordinator at Mont-Sainte-Anne (QC) resort. In the latter two cases, she actively contributed to the success of major sporting and cultural events (i.e., New France Festival, FIS snowboard and UCI Mountain Bike World Cups and World Championships).

"With her strong background in covering cycling at all levels of competition complemented by her decade of experience in event management with Gestev and the Mont-Sainte-Anne resort, we believe we have found in Florence the professional we need to successfully execute a bold and effective communications strategy for our sport", says Mr. Steve Lacelle, Chief Operating Officer of the CCA.

Mrs. Bourg is a graduate of l'Université de la Sorbonne-Nouvelle (Paris, France) and l'Université Stendhal (Grenoble, France) where she received her Master's degree in Foreign Languages, specialized in International Affairs. Her background also includes experience writing for several sport and outdoor publications, with articles published in 02 Bikers Magazine, VeloNews and Espaces magazine as well as experience in athlete management (as snowboard World Champion Jasey-Jay Anderson sports agent).

Beginning on February 13th, 2006, Mrs. Bourg will handle all public relations efforts for the association with an immediate focus on increasing athlete and event exposure. Says Florence Bourg: "I am thrilled about joining the CCA in this new capacity and I look forward to increasing the visibility of the CCA, its properties, partners and talented riders."
