Before the February election the Conservatives took the position that a proposed 30% Surtax on imported bicycles should be rejected. Since the election of the Conservatives as the governing party, there have been rumours and rumblings that they may actually reverse this position and are now in favour of the surtax.

The Canadian Association of Specialty Bike Importers (CASBI) urges all interested parties to continue the fight against the proposed 30% surtax on bicycles.

Go to the CASBI website for more information on how you can help the cause to get this tax rejected.
