Angel Fire Pulls Out of World Cup

We have heard that Angel Fire has pulled out of the Mountain Bike World Cup. While the UCI has not confirmed this, trade teams have started passing around word that this is the case. Angel Fire was scheduled to take place June 30 - July 1, one week after Mont Ste Anne, and was a triple event - cross-country, 4-Cross and downhill. The UCI is apparently working on finding a replacement event.

The UCI has a history of problems with U.S. venues, which is the reason that there have been so few in recent years. For 2007, both Madrid and Houffalize were competing for a World Cup (XC only), with Houffalize getting the nod. No word on whether the UCI would consider an XC-only venue.
