Healing Cycle Bike Club - Ontario

Saturday, April 14, 2007
10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Erin Mills Town Centre

If the idea of squeezing your butt into a pair of lycra shorts stirs up nausea and tearing yourself away from your kids on the weekend confirms your worst parent on the planet status - don't freak out, read on. A bike club that caters to family rides and offers learning skills and road safety sounds like a no-brainer but have you tried finding one? WELL, YOU JUST HAVE!

The Healing Cycle Bike Club is open to cyclists of all ages. The emphasis is on fun, with over 30 scheduled rides for the 2007 riding season, including youth based programs. It's an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful outdoors, make new friends and get some exercise. (Children have to be accompanied by an adult and helmets are mandatory.)

Come check us out on Saturday, April 14th:

• We'll have a friendly "Trykes for Tykes" relay - little kids on trykes, can you just picture the mayhem!

• A Tacx Virtual Reality bike simulator so that you can see whether all that hot air translates to pedal power.

• SportChek will be hosting a bike recycle program. Drop off an old but still working bike to be recycled for needy kids and receive a 15% discount on selected items in the store.

• A Can-Bike coordinator will be on hand to sign you up for bike safety or riding skills workshops in case you or your kids need a refresher.

• You'll have an opportunity to sign up for the Healing Cycle Foundation September ride to raise money for the Credit Valley Hospital palliative care unit.

We know you're itching to "cycle into spring" so come check us out!
