8,400 Square Feet of Wooden Ramps, Jumps and Gigantic Foam Pit

The Whistler Mountain Bike Park’s Air Dome in its second year of operation, is set to open April 11. The Air Dome, best known for its huge 20x28 foot foam pit, is located at Base II on Blackcomb Mountain and offers an indoor, weather-free training facility for all levels of mountain bikers.

"The Air Dome is the ultimate training facility,” says Andrew Shandro Professional Mountain Biker and Gravity Camp Coach. “The foam pit allows our campers to try new and progressive tricks in a safe environment.”

Open since 2006, the Air Dome has put the Whistler Mountain Bike Park ahead of the game. This unique facility offers table-top ramps, quarter pipes, wall rides and a massive foam pit full of $26,000 worth of soft foam cubes to perfect every trick before trying it on dirt.

The Air Dome will operate Fridays and Saturdays only from April 11 to May 16. Daily operations begin May 17 through October 13. Passes and tickets can be purchased at the Air Dome and Whistler Blackcomb Guest Relations or by phone at 1-800-766-0449.
