Shonny Vanlandingham and Danelle Kabush both had solid performances this weekend at the XTERRA East Championships. Shonny finished 3rd and Danelle moved into 5th after setting the fastest time in the run.

The race had one of the most technical mountain bike courses of any XTERRA event. Eventual winner, Melanie McQuaid, pulled away from the field in the mountain bike leg, putting two minutes into Shonny. "I had two flats in the race today," remarked Shonny. "My left leg and my right leg. I did too much this week and I didn't recover like I needed to. I suffered today. It was tough. But I learned a lot. I love being a student of the game."

Danelle came out of the water in 11th, was 7th after the bike, and then put down the fastest run split to move into 5th place by the finish.

Congratulations to Shonny and Danelle for another outstanding weekend!
