Barry Suffers Injuries in Worlds Crash

As we reported at the Road Worlds last week, Canada's Michael Barry crashed in the early laps of the men's road race on Sunday (September 28th). He was able to rejoin the peloton, eventually finishing a disappointing 33rd. After the race he told us that he was feeling "pretty banged up" after the race. Well, it turns out that the damage was worse than first realized:

I have a small fracture in a rib. I could barely get out of bed Tuesday and Wednesday but feel better now and will try to get back on the bike again this afternoon. If I can ride and put in some good efforts without too much pain then I will race 'til the end of the season. (I am scheduled to race in Italy next week, and do handful of one day races before Lombardy).

We have a series of images available from the aftermath of the crash - Photos
