Garmin-Slipstream have pulled both Ryder Hesjedal and Svein Tuft from their Giro d'Italia squad.  The move is quite late, considering that even 10 days ago during an interview with Ryder he stated that he was about to attend a pre-Giro training camp.

We received the following statement from Ryder (through a team representative):  "Of course I would have loved to race the Giro but I understand the decision that the directors made. I've been racing since January and am happy with my season so far. And, there's a lot more racing to come!"

Hesjedal is now scheduled to race the Tour de Suisse, while Tuft will do the Tour Catalunya and Tour de Suisse as preparation for the Tour. He states "The spring was a rough one, but I'm finally feeling like a human again" and "Things are going really good here finally".  Tuft was referring to the numerous crashes he suffered, starting with the Tour of California.
