Erinne Willock and Max Plaxton shared a unique experience on Friday when they took part in the 2010 Olympic Torch Relay in Victoria. The Pacific Cycling Centre athletes cycled with the torch attached to their bikes.

Willock cycled a one kilometre leg from Wallace Drive by Centennial Park to her old High School - Stelly's Secondary School. She then handed over to Plaxton who continued for 1.2 kilometres to the RBC on West Saanich Road.

"I was extremely honoured and excited to carry the Olympic Torch today in my home town," said Willock. "It was an opportunity of a lifetime to have a symbol of the Olympics come to the community that supported me along the way. My family and coach were right there when I handed over the flame and cheered me on. It was a successful way to bring the spirit of the Games to the people of Victoria and I hope that excitement follows the Torch along its journey across the country."

Head Coach Houshang Amiri looked on proudly at his two athletes. "Today's event was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and a historical moment for these two PCC athletes."
