A bit of history !

The event is named after Pierre Harvey. A sports icon in Quebec, Harvey took part in 4 olympic games ( '76, '80, '84, '88 ) in cycling and cross-country skiing. He has been a dominating figure in mountainbiking for the last 10 years. He now works as a consultant in designing cross country skiiing and mountainbike venues.

Ten years ago, Pierre Harvey decided to create an annual mountainbike race that would serve as a fund raiser for amateur athletes. His dream came true in 1992 when he and 40 other riders took on the 300 kilometer challenge for the very first time.

The event is now on the verge of becoming an international landmark in mountainbiking stage races!
