July 10/10 19:55 pm - Last Year for OLN Tour Coverage?

We have information from a number of reliable sources that OLN Canada will be dropping their coverage of the Tour de France after this year.  The writing has appeared to be on the wall for a while:

• late announcement of coverage for this year
• only morning coverage, no evening recap of the Versus program
• lackluster advertising efforts
• reports that OLN is moving in a 'new direction' (Repo Man and their pawn shop programming appears to support this...)

Hopefully, this doesn't mean the end of Tour television coverage for English-speaking Canada; we have been told that Rogers may be picking it up for Sportsnet.  This gains credibility with the Rogers support of the upcoming Queen's Park GP in Toronto, and the current promo that is being run during the OLN coverage for extra Tour coverage features available to Rogers subscribers in Ontario.
