Paris-Tours Underway

Paris-Tours, the 9th race in the season-long World Cup, is well started. The riders have completed approximately two thirds of the 255 kilometre course, and there is a breakaway of 3 - Frederic Guesdon, Jesper Skibby and Stephane Berges. The trio went clear before the halfway mark, and reached a maximum of 4 minutes before strong headwinds started to slow them down. However, they have kept battling, dropping to within a minute of the 50 rider chase group, before bouncing back to a 3 minute lead. The chasers include favourites Andrei Tchmil and Michael Boogerd - first and second in the World Cup standings. We expect to have final results around 11:30 am EDT.
