Dear Member:

I believe it was about this time last year when I sent out a letter full of bad news regarding the financial condition of the OCA and the steps we were taking to get back on track. I have nothing but good news to report this time around. The OCA is in very good shape financially and I am forecasting a surplus of around $15,000. Our focus in 2000 will be on rebuilding the office infrastructure. The future looks very bright.

The AGM is going to be held in conjunction with the Toronto International Bicycle Show, March 3 ˆ 5. The AGM will be held in the Trade link Presentation theatre at the National Trade Centre in Toronto (CNE) on Saturday March 4, 2000. Access to the theatre is just before the main entrance to the bicycle show. The AGM will run from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. The AGM will include awards, a financial review and a preliminary overview on the future direction of the OCA.

We will be at booth 200 with staff on hand to process licences and membership applications. Be sure and drop by to say hello.

Admittance to the AGM will be restricted to current paid up members of the association. If you have not received you licence or membership card there will be a registration desk setup at the entrance. If you have not applied prior to March 1st do not count on gaining admittance. A proxy form is included for paid up members who cannot attend the AGM.

Member and Licence applications have literally poured into the office creating a short term processing backlog. We have a very capable crew working on the backlog and licences are actively being processed and mailed out. If you have an urgent situation please call the office at (416) 426-7416. Licences with missing information are put on hold until that information is submitted. If your club has not affiliated your licence is on hold until we receive the affiliation paperwork from the club. Please have a witness sign the waiver on your application.

We have a number of contract positions coming up for office and event staff positions ˆ both part time and full time. The summer positions are suitable for a student with transportation. Please apply directly to myself at the OCA office.

Sincerely

Jim Crosscombe
President
