The Plastiglas Ontario Cup Series celebrates its seventh consecutive year at Albion Hills Conservation Area on June 10th, just 50 minutes from downtown Toronto.

Also the site of the Summer Solstice, North America’s largest 24hr Event, Albion Hills is often regarded as the GTA’s most popular MTB destination. Pre-registration closes June 7th, and event day registration is available on-site. Racers are invited to pre-ride the course from Wednesday to Friday during normal park hours. Additionally, Superfly Racing’s Tuesday Night Race Series will preview the course on June 5th. To participate, racers will need a licence or a one-day permit for Sport, Youth and Beginner Categories.

Albion Hills is the fourth stop on the 2012 Plastiglas Ontario Cup circuit. The course at Albion has continually evolved into one of the most exciting and unique courses in the GTA. Over the past three years, course designer Sean Ruppel and countless volunteers have been working hard to improve existing trails, as well as create exciting new trails that can withstand anything that Mother Nature or 800 mountain bikers throw at them. Please note, on Saturday, June 11th, pre-riding will not open until 12 pm as Chico Racing is also hosting a 6 and 12 kilometre Tread Trail Running Race.

2012 has seen many of Canada’s top young talent put their stamp on the Ontario Cup Series. Young athletes such as Evan McNeely (Specialized Canada), Haley Smith (Norco Evolution), Mitchell Bailey and Cayley Brooks (Trek Canada) have all been using the Ontario Cup Series in their build up toward the North American World Cups in June and July. Plastiglas Ontario Cup #4 promises to provide an exciting day of racing for both young and old alike.
