Report From Phil Reinaers

Phil is the president of the European Alison Sydor fan club, and has sent in the following report:

Saturday Report :

This year (with the elite men and women races both on Sunday), the atmosphere was very quiet. The weather is perfect for racing : cloudy but dry with 18-20°C. The circuit is dry without the dust of the previous years.

The qualification race - for the men who didn't earn UCI point during the two previous round of the World Cup took - happened this afternoon and the winner is Dario Cioni just before Belgian star Filip Meirhaeghe (who dropped off the Napa race due to health problems which didn't allow him to take part at the second round).

I have met Rune Hoydhal who told me that he was in a good shape but the warm weather of these latest days wasn't what he like (he had breath problems). But with a weather colder and cloudy, he has confidence for tomorrow race.
