Besides the Presidential election, many other decisions are made by the various commissions for the disciplines of cycling, including dates and locations for events around the world.  one important one for Canada was the approval of a UCI sanction for the women's road race at the Tour de Delta in 2014.  This year, for the first time, the men's race had a UCI sanction, and there was a lot of talk about why wasn't there one for the women.  Organizers said they were definitely interested in adding this to the program and, given the successful running of the men's race, a sanction for the women was approved.  This will make Delta the second UCI sanctioned race for women in Canada, along side Gatineau.
