Three bike companies have recently issued recalls on certain bike models. Detailed information and links are below:

Kona Wo

Kona recalls 2014 Wo Fat Bike Model Due to Fall Hazard; Bicycle Forks Can Break. Consumers should stop using this product unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of product: Kona Wo, Fat Bike with Kona Project Two Fat Disc Fork

Hazard: The bicycle forks can crack or break at the fork crown/steer column interface, causing a fall hazard to consumers

Recall Details: About 531 units

Description: The recall involves all 2014 Kona Wo bicycles equipped with a Kona Fat Project Two Disc Fork. The bicycles come in charcoal black with silver decals.

Incidents: One US report of a steer tube breakage, no injury reported

Consumers should immediately stop using these recalled bicycles and contact their local Kona authorized dealer for instructions on receiving a replacement fork.

Sold at: Authorized Kona bicycle dealers from September 2013 to July 2014 for about $1,700.


Felt F65X & F85X

Felt Bicycles in conjunction with the CPSC announce a voluntary recall of a limited number of 2015 cyclo-cross bikes. The models affected are the 2015 F65X and F85X. The recall is being issued due to a potential frame problem. There were approximately 150 affected bikes in total and of that, 127 have already been located and remedied.

These bikes were sold in bicycle specialty stores from June 2014 through September 2014 for between $1,200 and $1,500.

No injuries or incidents have been reported, although as a precaution consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycles and contact their local Felt Bicycles dealer for a free inspection and frame replacement.

Salsa Aluminum Mukluk Bearpaw Fork

This recall includes all aluminum Salsa Mukluk Bearpaw forks, purchased between September 1, 2013, and November 17, 2014, with the date codes stamped 20130524, 20130710 and 20130826, followed by "CWI2201BAN2" or any aluminum Mukluk Bearpaw fork that has a Salsa compass on the outside of the fork blades (replacement forks have the compass on the inside of the fork blades).

Forks available on complete Mukluk bikes and framesets sold between 09/01/13 and 11/17/14, and as individual aftermarket Bearpaw forks.
