Cycling fans in Milton and the GTA won't need to wait long after the conclusion of the 2016 Rio Olympics and Paralympics for their own chance to see some of the world's best cyclists in action.

Cycling Canada has announced the details for three major events to be hosted in Milton, Ontario, over a 9-day span in late September and early October. Dubbed Cycling Canada Week presented by Lexus, the series of events will include The Canadian Track Championships, The Milton International Challenge and Cycling Canada's second annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony and festivities.

The events will kick-off on Saturday, September 24th, with the Canadian Track Championships. Elite, Master and Para cyclists from across Canada will convene at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre to battle for the maple leaf jersey of national champion over three days of competition.

After a two-day break the action will resume at the velodrome with the Milton International Challenge (MIC). Hosted for the first time in early 2015 as a test event for the TO 2015 PanAm Games, the MIC will see a select group of Canadian National Team athletes square off in head to head competition versus some of the top track cyclists from around the world. The three day event will present local fans with a unique chance to watch some of the athletes from the 2016 Rio Olympics compete less than six weeks after the conclusion of the Games.

The week of events culminates on Sunday, October 2nd, with the second annual Cycling Canada Hall of Fame induction ceremonies. This year's celebrations will include Cycling Canada's inaugural Legends Ride, an exclusive opportunity for cycling fans and supporters to join the Hall of Fame inductees, as well as current National Team athletes, for a fully-supported VIP road ride around the beautiful Halton Hills area. The morning ride will start and finish at Crosswinds Golf & Country Club, and will be followed by a luncheon where the 2016 class of inductees will be honoured. The 2016 class includes Gord Fraser, Louise Lalonde, Marie-Hélène Prémont, Alex Stieda, Brian Walton and Canada's 1908 Men's Team Pursuit squad.
