Early Bicycle Photography - Toronto

Lorne Shields, one of Canada's foremost collectors of bicycles and historical cycling materials will be giving a talk on early bicycle photography on Wednesday, December 6th, at 7:30 pm in Meeting Room 2 of the North York Central Library. The Library is located at 5120 Yonge Street. The talk will take place at a meeting of The Ephemera Society of Canada.

In his illustrated presentation, Mr Shields will discuss the evolution of the bicycle and its socio-economic implications for 19th and 20th century life, coinciding with the innovations and growing popularity of photography. Included are the first known daguerrotype of a cycling vehicle, and images from such notable photographers as Canadian William Notman.

Editor's Note: The room for this meeting holds 50 people - first come, first served.

Happy Birthday To...

Marc Sonntag (today) and Jacques Landry (tomorrow).
