Canada's James Piccoli became just the fourth foreign winner in 61 years of the SBS Bank Tour of Southland (New Zealand), safely negotiating today's final stage into Invercargill.

The Kia Motors-Ascot Park Hotel rider maintained his overall lead (obtained on stage five) of 35 seconds following a second place finish in this morning's 13km individual time trial in Winton, and then made it safely to the finish in Gala Street without incident this afternoon. Mike Greer Homes' Michael Vink finished second overall with Michael Torckler third.

Piccoli also won the KoM calssification and his team, Kia Motors - Ascot Park Hotel won the Team GC
