March 7/21 11:24 am - Paris-Nice: Stage 1 results

Ireland's Sam Bennett returned to French roads in Paris-Nice to claim the yellow and white leader's jersey of the "Race to the Sun" for the first time. The 2020 Tour de France green jersey holder was perfectly led out by his Deceuninck-Quick-Step team-mate Michael Morkov to snatch his third win of the season. The Irishman overpowered France’s Arnaud Demare and former world champion Mads Pedersen at the finishline after 166-kms around Saint-Cyr-l’École. Richie Porte, winner in 2013 and 2015, crashed with 33 km to go and was forced out on the first day.

There are no Canadian riders competing.
