Moreau Firts Tour Leader

Christophe Moreua (Festina) gave France a Tour leader on the first day of the 2001 Tour de France, beating out defending champion Lance Armstrong (U.S. Postal) by 3 seconds in the 8.2 kilometre prologue held in Dunkerque. Early leader Gonzalez de Galdeano (ONCE) was third a further second back and Jan Ullrich was tied at 7seconds with Brard of Festina. Full results to follow.
