The men weren't quite as luck as the women. A torrential downpour just before the last third of the field started their runs hurt all the favourites, and a lightning strike knocked out power as they were preparing to release results!

Mickael Pascal (Be-One) won, partially because he was the last rider to go down before the skies opened, with Eric Carter (Mongoose), another early starter, finishing second. Fastest qualifier Fabien Barel (GT), who won last week and the overall World Cup leader, finished 13th. This is actually a very impressive result, considering that the second fastest qualifier - Mick Hannah (Global Racing) - finished 37th, and Nico Vouilloz (3rd fastest qualifier) finished 38th!

Preliminary results for the men's downhill.

1. Mickael Pascal (Fra) Be-One 3:37.68
2. Eric Carter (USA) Mongoose 3:38.16
3. Colin Bailey (USA) Maxxis 3:39.94
4. Oscar Saiz (Esp) Be-One 3:40.43
5. John Waddell (Aus) Sunrace 3:40.70

24. Andrew Shandro (Can) Ford-Devinci 3:46.55
54. Ted Tempany (Can) Kona Mantra 4:05.53
64. Jordie Lunn (Can) Santa Cruz 5:04.99
