The 2001 Panam in Caxambu were good for Canada. Hot weather (30-32C), dry conditions, 7km. loop with 180m per lap. Here are the results :

Senior elite M - 35 km. (15 starters)
1. Seabra (Brasil) 1:58:51
2. Cruz (Brasil) 1:59:59
3. Azevedo(Brasil) 2:00:19
6. Mathieu Toulouse (Canada) 2:03:55

Senior elite W - 21 km. (13 starters)
1. Marie-Hélene Prémont (Canada) 1:29:44
2. Zunim (Costa Rica) 1:39:25
3. Penalver (Argentina) 1:41:29

Junior W - 14 km. (9 starters)
1. Martina Feldman (Canada) 1:18:40
2. Gramiscelli (Brasil) 1:18:52
3. Campos (Chile) 1:20:50
4. Anne-Marie Jobin (Canada) 1:21:56

Panam championships will be in Chile in 2002, and Panam Games in Medelin (Colombia) in 2003.
